Dr. Elizabeth Mokeira is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Member of the Law Society of Kenya. She is also a member of the Human Development and Capabilities Association.
Dr. Elizabeth Mokeira holds a Bachelor of Laws degree of the University of Nairobi, a master’s degree in Gender, Education and International Development from the University of London, and a Ph.D. with a specialization in Development from the University of Free State, South Africa.
Currently, Dr. Mokeira is a lecturer at the Strathmore Law School and a member of Strathmore Law School Graduate Academic Committee which is in charge of research, vetting and assessment of postgraduate students’ research and writing in the law school.
Before joining Strathmore Law School, Dr. Mokeira worked as an adjunct Faculty servicing various Schools within the University. In this capacity, she worked at Strathmore University Business school where she taught diverse executive programme courses on the legal environment of businesses, as well us Company Law and Business Law to undergraduate students. She has also worked at School of Tourism where she instructs students in Hospitality Law. Outside Strathmore, Dr. Mokeira has worked at Riara University Law School where she taught Educational Law and Policy and Gender and the Law. Previously, she was a research fellow at the Center for Higher Education and Capabilities at the University of Free State in South Africa.
Besides, Dr. Mokeira has authored Company Law Book for Certified Public Accountants in Kenya and Journal issues. Her areas of academic interest and expertise span the breadth of Business and Corporate Law, Corporate Governance, Competition and Consumer Protection Law; Employment Law, Education Law and Policy; Gender and the Law; and Legal Research and Writing.
