Evans Ijakaa – Communications Officer, Strathmore Law School

Evans Ijakaa is a communications practitioner with over 3  years of experience in corporate communications, journalism and development communication. As the Communications Officer at Strathmore Law School, he leads the School’s communication strategies.

He is passionate about using communication as a tool for social change and giving voice to underrepresented communities. His social impact approach is rooted in participatory communication and the principles of development communication. Beyond Strathmore, Ijakaa contributes to The Commonwealth Magazine as a correspondent and to TV47 Kenya as a digital journalist, where he focuses on development, social justice and human-interest stories.

Evans is currently a Journalism Fellow at the CNN Academy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Strathmore University and is an accredited journalist by the Media Council of Kenya. His work and interests span across strategic communication, global affairs, development and advocacy for marginalized groups.
