Renee Tikolo is a Graduate Assistant at Strathmore Law School, where she supports teaching and research, and works across the school’s centres, including the Strathmore Law Clinic and the Mentorship Office. She is also an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a legal researcher working at the intersection of technology, law, and public policy.
Her research examines how legal frameworks operate in digital environments – particularly questions of rights, accountability, and control – and the gap between formal compliance and lived reality. She focuses on data protection, digital governance, and emerging AI regulation, with a growing interest in image rights, identity, and consent in digital spaces.
She is a researcher with the Africa Privacy Roundup Project at Privacy Hub Africa, a Fellow of the Africa Privacy Book Club, and a member of the Law Society of African AI Professionals (LSAAP) & the Association of Privacy Lawyers in Africa (APLA).
